YOGA BOARD / BOARDSPORTS WORKOUT WITH INDIAN CLUBS
Discover new sensations and challenges with our yoga board based workout, using one of the oldest strength training tool known to man: the Indian club. You can do it at home or in a yoga studio and even outside in nature!
Swinging Indian clubs improve strength, endurance, mobility, balance, agility and coordination. Like yoga, swinging Indian clubs is a body & mind practice, and you’ll discover the positive effects of meditation in motion.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Club swinging for Yogaboard & Boardsports is for anyone who loves the sliding sensations of sports like: Surfing, SUP, snowboarding, skateboarding and their offsprings!
This video pack is designed for people with or without prior knowledge of Indian clubs. With our club swinging 101 express video and the tips in the circuits, we’ll have you swinging in no time!
We have even included specific tutorials as extra material for the more advanced swings.
This is a full follow along video program, where we take you from the warm up to 3 exciting circuits with 2 levels of difficulty. And we end the session with a simple and effective cool down.
It’s up to you to decide the intensity and how long you want to train, from 6 to 30 minutes or more!
Before you jump on the yoga board or SUP, we recommend you to test the exercises on firm ground. Start light, and increase the weight and complexity as needed. The goal is to swing smoothly and rhythmically if you are to reap benefits.
And once you know the exercises, you can even do this workout on the water, or on your Stand Up Paddle Board! Simply fill your pahlavandle™ with water, now they float, so you’re good to go! The state of the water, and the shape of your board will affect and challenge your balance in different ways!
WHY TRAIN ON A YOGA BOARD OR SUP?
You can look at training on the yoga board as a way to add variation and fun to regular training, but it has a deeper meaning. This form of training has many names like perturbation training, balance training, reactive core training or instability training, and is used with success in Physiotherapy.
The unstable surface challenges the body to instantly respond to imposed external stimuli with minimal or no conscious thought.
Instability training is a great idea for the rehab and training of children and adults, as it stimulates the vestibular system. The vestibular system is directly responsible for your sense of balance, posture control and awareness of spatial orientation.
Vestibular input is important for human development because it helps us maintain balance and trunk control during sports activities and countless daily activities. And it’s never too late to improve!
If you want to move, act, and react with fluidity and grace, then you’re going to love our yoga board / SUP workout!
DO YOU NEED A YOGA BOARD FOR THIS WORKOUT?
It’s a great workout on it’s own or for all boardsports, but the program really comes alive on the yoga board!
We love the balance yoga board from Strobel & Walter, as not only it looks fantastic, it also tips front and back as well, not only side to side! And you can adjust the levels instability by adding layers of yoga mat under the board.
