(2 customer reviews)

These gorgeous Indian clubs are made in the “New York” style, after Sam D Kehoe’s modification of the traditional English design.

The longer handle shifts most of the weight towards the end of the club, and they swing beautifully!

1kg to 1,2kg is the regular size or recommended starting weight for men,  in many of the classical old books about Indian clubs from the 1800’s.
Their length make them perfect for open style/ British style club swinging and complex figures for most people. This is a truly an all around club, from beginner to advanced levels.

Sold as a pair.

Classic Indian clubs | Men’s entry weight for British style club swinging

These classic Indian clubs have a traditional bottle shape, and longer handle of the New York style clubs. 1,2kg is the recommended entry weight for men according to the Victorian era texts. If you should only get 1 set of wooden Indian clubs, these would allow you to do any patterns and provide a good overall workout.

When we made the Pahlavandle™, it was never meant to replace wooden classic Indian clubs. We are too fond of the look and feel of wood to try to convince anyone otherwise! As you can see for yourself, our Victorian era Indian clubs are a beautiful and classy addition to your collection and workout space.

Ron has been turning all of our wooden Indian clubs since 2013, in his workshop, right here in Southern Denmark. Thierry has contributed to the development of the shape, weight, dimension,  overall design and testing of all of our Indian clubs.

Our classical retro looking Indian clubs are always 2 tones. We use mahogany for the handles, taking advantage of its straighter grain and tight stable structure at 650kg/m3 and have our logo laser engraved on the barrel of laminated Bamboo. The extra work makes the difference!

We source sustainable materials like Bamboo “the miracle hardwood” at 700kg/m3. We utilize its beautiful grain patterns for esthetics and its density and stability to maximize uniformity and minimalize cracking. We reclaim rejected hardwoods destined for the burn pile or landfill. This takes nothing away from their beauty, durability or strength!
With our clubs, you can train with a clear conscience, helping to minimize environmental impact. Pretty cool, no?

The way we make our clubs saves on average 40% of material when compared to conventional wood turning techniques used by other manufacturers.

Using reclaimed and sustainable methods is not by any means a cheap way to produce clubs, we just feel it is the responsible way. After all it is in Heroic Sports DNA.

Our wooden Indian clubs are finished with natural Danish oil for the best non slippery feel possible. We recommend you apply a thin coat of oil when you feel the need for it.

We make those clubs by hand, from start to finish, in Denmark. The handles are slightly thicker than most Indian clubs found on the market, to provide a lovely, solid and well-balanced feel in the hand.

  • Always inspect your equipment before you train.
  • Always take a 360 degree space check around you before you start your workout, as clubs can hit things or fly out of your grip.
  • Always train within your capacities, listen to your body, and use common sense.

  1. Ryan

I’ve been using these clubs daily now for almost a month. I spend no more than 10-15’ with them, and stick to simple movements like asynchronous inward and outward hearts, and alternating shield casts. I wouldn’t say I am very experienced, but what I have still yet received from these tools is an entire world of difference in anatomical function and feel; my shoulders are beginning to have a very distinct sensation of being taught, almost like elastic, but incredibly strong and mobile. I’ve had many shoulder problems over the years and I really wish I had invested in something like this long ago, for, I know if I had, I would be in a much different place.

Aside from what these tools have done for my body, there must be something noted about the very apparent quality of craftsmanship. It is quite clear that Ron has a passion for turning wood, for the two sets of mahogany clubs I have ordered are of impeccable nature; not only can I tell they were completed with every indication of perfection in mind, but they were packaged to travel across half the Earth and maintain that exact same condition.

It is not literally not possible for me to be happier about my recent purchases of medium and large New York style clubs. This fact has left me absolutely self-compelled to come here and leave this review. I cannot recommend these clubs enough to anyone looking to optimize, rehabilitate, strengthen, condition, or just simply use their body for the joy of moving.

    Much, much appreciated.
    Thank you guys!
