The specifics of spike push ups
Doing push ups on the spikes adds an extra 20 cm of range of motion. A greater range of motion means your muscles have to work harder, and this gradually increase the flexibility of your shoulder girdle.
The base of contact on the floor is greatly reduced, forcing your stabilizer muscles to switch on like crazy. You will increase your body mind connection just to find your balance!
Should I get T spikes or Globe spikes?
This is a matter of personal choice, as both types of handles offer similar benefits.
With the globes, you are targeting the fingers to a higher extent than that with T spikes.
Grip training has different and specific aspects. Training with a closed hand versus a nearly open hand is going to put more stress on your tendons, so keep that in mind if starting off with grip training!
The globe handle and its type of grip training is great for sports that rely on hand strength such as wrestling, grappling and rock climbing.
